Do you use language technologies or language resources in creating the products and services that your company provides, or in your scientific work? Do you work in the fields of artificial intelligence, information and language technologies, robotics or computational language processing? Have you looked for language applications to integrate into your developments? Do you know enough about the platforms that provide them? Do you have business strategies for how sharing products and services can contribute to the development of your company or scientific activity?
If these questions interest you and you want to learn more, visit our seminar “European Language Data Space”!
The European Language Data Space and the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences are bringing together experts from Bulgarian technology companies, public administration and the scientific community to discuss the importance of language data for the development of language technologies and AI-based tools in Bulgaria. Through the Common European Data Space, communication and the exchange of diverse data and their metadata are becoming a reality for all European countries. Since the beginning of 2023, the European Commission has been providing new large-scale support for the sharing of language data, which is being implemented through the European Language Data Space.
The European Language Data Space aims to build a reliable and effective marketplace for the exchange of language resources in both the private and public sectors in line with the European Data Strategy. In pursuit of this goal, the European Language Data Space is organising a series of national seminars in European countries, which will demonstrate how technology companies can monetise their data in a multilingual Europe, where language technologies and AI-based applications are playing an increasingly significant role.
The event is intended for representatives of technology companies that use language resources and language technologies in the creation and distribution of products and services; for those working in the fields of artificial intelligence, information and language technologies, robotics or computational language processing; as well as for all creators of language data and language resources from the scientific community, public administration and business. The event will be held in Bulgarian and English with simultaneous interpretation for foreign participants into Bulgarian.
More information about the “European Language Data Space” project and the seminar in Bulgaria can be found here.
